Order of Distinction, Rank of Officer. Ernie is now recognized by the Government of Jamaica as Glenroy Anthony Michael “Ernie” Smith, {BH(M)} O.D.

2004
Living Legends Award along with Ken Lazarus, Keith Lyn, David Rudder, Byron Lee, Mighty Sparrow, Winston Blake (Merritone Music)

2003
The Musgrave Bronze Medal, along with Oliver Samuels, silver and Chris Blackwell, Gold

2001
Independence Award, Prime Minister of Jamaica – along with Shaggy and The Mighty Sparrow


Lifetime Legend Award – Heineken Startime

1999
Nominated for the Bob Marley Lifetime Achievement Award – Tamika Awards, New York

1998
Best Produced Album in Jamaica for the year 1997 – “After 30 Years Life Is Just For Living”; Best produced song of the year “Didn't Know We Were Poor” - JAMI


Show “30 Years…and Counting” deemed the best show ever produced in Jamaica.
